The adult carpet beetle is about 1/8 inch long and has a varied color pattern on its shell. This beetle and its young are typically found indoors on furniture, in closets or in carpets or rugs. Carpet beetles are one of the few pests that can digest the protein found in animal fur, hair, feathers and horns.
