Cockroach Control & Extermination
Now controlling Cockroaches in Modesto, Manteca, Oakdale & Turlock!
Cockroaches are one of the oldest known pests in the world. Over the last 300 million years, they have diversified and expanded to almost all areas around the globe. They are considered a threat to public health because they breed and feed in unsanitary areas like garbage, sewer systems and septic tanks. Cockroaches have also been known to produce allergens that trigger asthma with their excrement and body extracts.
American Cockroach
American cockroaches are a reddish brown color and typically 2 inches long. They have wings and are capable of flight, but they are weak fliers. They can be found indoors and outside in warm climates. They are commonly found in sewer systems and can enter structures from drains.
German Cockroach
German cockroaches are typically a light brown color and 1/2 inch long. These roaches are often identified by two dark stripes that run the length of their bodies. They also have wings, but do not fly. They can be found in warm, humid areas such as crevices in bathrooms and kitchens. They are attracted to warmth and are typically found in low to the ground areas near food and water.
Oriental Cockroach
Oriental cockroaches have black or dark brown shiny bodies and are about 1.25 inches long. They live in damp areas and are commonly found outdoors in crawlspaces, basements, sewers, drain pipes and wall voids. They can tolerate the cold, but they prefer warm, wet areas.
Since most species of cockroaches prefer tight, hard to access areas, it is imperative to treat for them as soon as one has been spotted. Onstar Pest Control offers several different methods of treating cockroaches. After a technician has inspected the home or property, they will review a plan to treat the affected areas using all available options. For the best results, we recommend starting a preventative pest program to avoid future infestations. We offer monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly service. Call today for more information.
