Subterraean Termite Control & Extermination
Now controlling Subterraean Termites in Modesto, Manteca, Oakdale & Turlock!
Every year, America spends $5 billion dollars exterminating and repairing damage left by subterranean termites. Subterranean termites nest underground, in what is known as a "crown colony." Crown colonies allow subterranean termites to infest structures at a distance, setting up satellite colonies in your home. Subterranean termites are typically found in sub areas, attics, and baseboards. Mud tubes, the subterranean termite’s preferred method of transportation, can be found in all locations of the home or building. Subterranean termites use these tubes for temperature control and protection from predators. Subterranean termites will also enter buildings through cracks in the cement slab or expansion joints. Typically, subterranean termites will be found in the bathroom or where high moisture content is readily available.
Subterranean Termite Inspection
Onstar’s subterranean termite inspectors have been specially trained to inspect your home, apartment complex or commercial building. Your Onstar termite technician will provide a full inspection of your property. During the subterranean termite inspection, all problem areas will be identified, as well as potential termite harborages. Depending on the severity of your subterranean termite infestation, your technician will recommend full structure treatments or more localized treatments to establish control.
Liquid Termiticides for Subterranean Termites
Liquid termiticides are applied as a perimeter treatment around your home underground. This process is known in the industry as "trench treatment." Underneath the foundation of the structure, a different treatment method known as "drill treatment." By drilling and treating, the soil under the foundation becomes a chemical layer between the termites in the soil and the structure above.
New Construction Subterranean Treatments
For new construction, Onstar treats the graded soil and foundation walls before the cement slab is poured. For existing buildings, the perimeter of the foundation is trenched and drilled, then treated with termiticides.
